Ordered take out several times over the holidays. The food was amazing each time. The folks working here are so friendly. They even explain the level of spice so there are no surprises. We ordered 2-3 various rolls each time, soup, and edamame. Inside the atmosphere is also nice. The Koi pond immediately inside when you enter is beautiful. We will repeat, dine in soon, and bring our kiddo.

Fantastic! We loved everything we had here! Server was amazing! Fish tasted super fresh! They have a lovely happy hour 3:30-6:30 Tues-Sat! We had the Petite Pepperdine which was outstanding! And omg the Jalapeño tempura chips were magical! Fish was fantastic! Also had sashimi and the chicken thigh screeners. Loved it all! This is going to be a regular stop for me whenever I am in Sacramento!

All-day happy hour deals on Monday with $12 rolls and $6 hand rolls. Service was unfortunately pretty slow, but the food was all good. Most of the rolls on the happy hour menu have something fried or come with a mayo based sauce, so I'd actually recommend just ordering nigiri if that's not your speed. All of the nigiri I've tried here has tasted fresh and delicious.

Great spot for Happy hour! We came here around 5pm and there was no wait. Happy hour starts from 3:30pm to 6:30pm. There is an extensive menu during happy hour. Speciality rolls such as the "kitchen sink" and "simba roll" were $12 and simple rolls were $8. They also had discount on drinks and appetizers. The service was excellent and our server was so nice and attentive. She also gave us some fish food so we could feed the koi fish!

We were looking around for a place to eat and we saw Koi Japanese Bistro. It's in a small strip mall with plenty of parking available. The restaurant is spacious and well lit with natural lighting. Simple but nice decorations. They have Happy Hour Tuesday to Saturday 3:30pm - 6:30pm. HH Salmon Handroll ($6) - generous temaki handroll. The roll had a slight mayo Salmon and cucumber (4/5). HH Spicy Salmon Handroll ($6) - spicy, fresh tasting Salmon and cucumber (4/5). HH Daily Tempura - Lightly battered and fried to a golden brown (carrots, onions, green bell peppers, & kabocha squash). (3.5/5) Decent. HH Happy Salmon Roll: tempura asparagus, Crab mix, cucumber, topped with Salmon and house seasoned spicy sauce, unagi sauce, green onions, sesame seeds (3.5/5). Presentation was great! Decent rolls. The service was great! She was very friendly and attentive (4/5)! Overall, 3.5 stars. Rounding up because service was great.

In a nutshell; Name fitting ambience as you walk into the establishment, oh and good food. Went on a work day around just before the dinner rush times usually kick in. Was glad that the place had their own parking as establishments around downtown businesses tend to be tough. The hostess/server was great and accommodating. Was seated immediately. Orders didn't really take that long to arrive as well, main entrees followed the appetizers in a short time in between. The mixed tempura was great, the sauce was light and didn't overpower the tempura. Sushi was well made as well. One thing to note though is, well it's Not a fault to the establishment but Ive never really had great ramen in establishments that don't focus mainly on ramen but thought to give their ramen a try, and I'd probably recommend their other menu choices over the ramen if you're looking for really good ramen, though it is passable. Overall service was great, place was neat, food is good.

Koi is a small midtown sushi spot known for its fish pond inside. It's pretty and small but it worked for our party of I wanna say like fourteen people Saturday night. It's not overly crowded which is nice. Happy hour is pretty good, and reasonable. Good buttery oysters that are like two bucks each among other things. The sushi was bomb. I got the Barbershop roll which had crab salad, cream cheese, spicy aioli....like everything good basically. I ate it all. 10/10. Not a lot of parking because it's a small spot but free private lot is nice. It's right off the freeway too so easy to find. The owner Alain is a cool dude.

I've been here multiple times, and usually I try to catch their happy hour. Their happy hour is soooo reasonably priced, and you could really get a full meal out of it! The time frame for happy hour is 5-6:30 pm everyday. Service has always been very friendly here. I haven't really seen the restaurant be very packed, but I do come early enough for their happy hour. There is also ample parking AND I don't have to pay for parking, so I really appreciate that. The restaurant itself is very clean and pretty. Their cool feature is the koi pond they have in the front of the restaurant. Heard this used to be a pet store! Few of their dishes disappoint, if anything. I think the items that really stood out to me are the tumachi, daily tempura, and the scotch egg. Daily tempura: Feels like I get this every time I'm here and it is a pretty generous portion during the happy hour. Scotch Egg: Something that I noticed was different recently, was that they did not cut their scotch egg in half like they used it, so it was like a round ball, and then we cut it ourselves. Not that it's bad, thought it looked kind of funny to get 1 single egg (guess it's also not as aesthetic, haha). The one dish that I didn't enjoy as much was the Stoned Scallops. It sounded promising, but when it came out, the roll was a bit soggy and fell apart pretty easily because I think they overstuffed it. Overall, I highly recommend Koi!
